The favorites keep winning races in NASCAR’s Cup Series and this past week Kyle Larson posted his third victory of the season with a first-place finish at Michigan. Martin Truex Jr. was once again right in the mix in second place and Erik Jones tried to crash the party by taking third. I knew that Matt Kenseth needed a win as my +1650 top-valued contender, but all he could manage was 24th in the final running order.
The following is a look at a few of the top favorites to win this Saturday night’s race at Bristol along with my top value pick based on betting odds provided by 5Dimes Sportsbook
Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race Favorites
The oddsmakers at 5Dimes are beginning to become a broken record with the top three favorites at the top of this week’s list starting with Kyle Busch as a +500 favorite to win. The driver of the No. 18 Toyota only has one Cup Series victory this season, but this team is firmly implanted in third place in the standings with a total of 797 points. Multiple segment wins in individual races along with seven additional runs inside the top five justifies Busch’s lofty odds to win almost every single week. He got knocked out of the first race at Bristol this season in a wreck, but over the course of his career he has five victories at this track.

The second-favorite to win on Saturday night is Martin Truex Jr. at +550 odds coming off last week’s second-place finish. He has always been a solid driver at NASCAR’s highest level over the past 12 seasons, but he has taken things up quite a few notches this year behind the wheel of the No. 78 Toyota with four victories and six more Top 5 runs. He has been at the top of the standings all season long and heading into this race he has a comfortable 129 point lead with 933 total points. Bristol has not been one of Martin’s favorite tracks over the years with an average finishing position of 20.3 to drain quite a bit of value out of this week’s odds.
Kyle Larson has been rounding out NASCAR’s Big 3 all season long with three checkered flags following last week’s win to go along with an amazing seven more second-place finishes on the 2017 racing resume. His No. 42 Chevrolet is holding down the second spot in the standings with 804 total points. What makes this performance even more impressive is that at the tender age of 25 this is just his fourth full season of Cup Series racing. This will be Larson’s eighth trip around the short track at Bristol in a point race and he is coming off his best career finish with a sixth-place run in the first race here this season.
