Buehler is 2/6 on quality starts this season, but most of that has to do with a short leash. Three times already, he’s pitched to within three outs or less of a QS, then pulled. Last Sunday, he held the Cubs to one run and four hits through seven innings of a 7-1 Los Angeles victory. And over his last three starts, he’s allowed just that one run and 13 hits through 21 innings, with three walks against 21 strikeouts.
The Dodgers are 5-1 with Buehler this season, each of those wins coming by at least two runs.
This will be Buehler’s first start against Philadelphia since 2019.
Suarez, by our strict standards, is just 1/6 on quality starts this year, but that one came last time out when he tossed six innings of four-hit, shutout ball in a 9-0 Phillies win over Seattle.
