Yankees-A’s Betting Preview
New York just won two of three games at home against San Diego, winning Wednesday’s series rubber match 4-3. The Yankees then had Thursday off.
Just before that New York lost two of three to Tampa Bay and just before that they lost two of three to Baltimore. So the Yanks are only 1-2 over their last three series and 4-5 over their last nine games.
Meanwhile Sacramento just dropped two of three games “at home” to Seattle, losing Wednesday’s rubber match – blowing a 5-0 lead – 6-5. The Athletics then also had Thursday off.
Just before that the A’s took two of three at Miami and just before that they took three of four at Texas. Going back a bit further Sacramento is 4-1 over its last five series and 10-5 over its last 15 games.
This series is the first meeting between these teams this season. Last year the Yanks took the season series from the A’s five games to two.
Friday’s Pitching Match-Up
Bido is 0/7 on quality starts this season and is yet to go six full innings. But he’s actually been fairly effective most times out. Through his first four starts this season, he allowed just seven runs – six earned – through 20 2/3 innings. He then had a bad outing against Texas but a good outing against the White Sox. Then, last Saturday, he gave up four runs in five frames of a game the A’s eventually lost to Miami 9-6.
The Athletics are 4-3 with Bido this season and probably should be 5-2. Also, the unders are 4-2-1 with Bido.
This will be Bido’s first career action against the Yankees.
Warren is also 0/7 on quality starts this year, with less effectiveness than Bido. Last Sunday against the Rays, he allowed five runs – three earned – and seven hits through 4 2/3 innings of a 7-5 New York defeat. And just before that, he gave up four runs in less than four innings of a 4-3 Yankees loss to the Orioles.
New York is 2-5 with Warren this season, which is about what they should be, with the overs going 4-2-1.
This will be Warren’s first career action against the A’s.
