And over his last four starts, he’s allowed six runs and 15 hits through 17 innings.
The Twins are 4-6 with Archer this season, although that record is probably a game worse than it should be.
In his most recent start against the Yankees, back in April of last season while with Tampa Bay, Archer tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in a 4-0 Rays win.
Cortes is 5/10 on quality starts this year and two for his last two. Last Thursday, he tossed seven innings of five-hit, shutout ball against the Angels, with two walks against seven strikeouts, in a 6-1 New York victory. And just before that, he held Tampa Bay to one run through eight innings of a 7-2 Yankees win.
New York is 8-2 with Cortes this season, 5-0 his last five times out.
In his only career start against the Twins, back in August of last season, Cortes allowed two runs and four hits through seven frames, with two walks and seven whiffs, in a 10-2 Yanks triumph.
