Just before that, Milwaukee swept two games from Tampa Bay, but just before that, it lost two of three to Cincinnati. Going back a bit further, the Brewers are 1-3 over their last four series and 4-8 over their last 12 games.
At 61-52 overall, Milwaukee trails the first-place Cardinals by a game and a half in the NL Central race, and it’s a game and a half behind Philadelphia in the battle for the No. 3 spot in the NL wild-card standings.

Peralta is making his third start since doing two-plus months on the DL with a sore shoulder. Twelve days ago, he gave up two runs and four hits in less than four innings of an 8-7 Milwaukee loss to Pittsburgh. Milwaukee is 6-4 with Peralta this season, although that’s probably a game better than they should be, based on his performances.
