Kopech is 2/9 on quality starts this season. Last Wednesday he got clipped for five runs on six hits, including two home runs, and four walks through just three innings of a 7-3 Chicago loss to Toronto. But over his three starts previous to that he allowed just four runs – three earned – and five hits through 19 innings, and two of those starts came against the best team in Baseball at the moment, the Yankees.
The White Sox are 4-5 with Kopech this season but that’s at least a game or two worse than they should be, based on his performances.
This will be Kopech’s first-ever action against the Dodgers.
White is 0/3 on quality starts this year. Last Wednesday he gave up three runs on four hits and two walks through five innings of an 8-4 Los Angeles loss to Pittsburgh. And over his last three appearances he’s allowed six runs and nine hits through 11 1/3 innings, with five walks and 11 strikeouts.
The Dodgers are 2-1 when White starts this year, which is a game better than they should be.
This will be White’s first-ever action against the White Sox.
