New York took the opener of this series Tuesday night, continuing the recent runs of both teams.
It’s Kodai Senga’s turn in the Mets rotation Wednesday, although they might also go with a bullpen effort. Arizona will go with Corbin Burnes.

Diamondbacks-Mets Betting Preview
New York grabbed the opener of this series Tuesday night 8-3. The Mets scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning, three in the third and one in the fourth, banging three homers along the way, and eased home from there.
New York won Tuesday at -135 on the dime line and covered against the run line at +150. This while the game played over a total of 8.

Wednesday’s Pitching Match-Up
Senga is 2/5 on quality starts this season, but he’s really going very nicely. Last Friday, he held Washington to two runs and six hits through six innings, although New York lost that game 5-4. And over his last four starts, he’s allowed just those two runs and 18 hits through 23 2/3 innings, with eight walks against 17 strikeouts.
The Mets are 3-2 with Senga this season, but 4-1 would more accurately describe his overall performance. Also, the unders are 4-0-1 with him.
Over two career starts against Arizona, both in 2023, Senga allowed just one run and six hits through 14 innings, with three walks and 22 whiffs. New York won both those games.
Meanwhile, Burnes is two for his last three on quality starts. Last Thursday, he allowed three runs – one earned – and three hits through 5 1/3 innings of a game the Diamondbacks eventually lost to Tampa Bay 7-4 in extra innings. And over his last three starts, he’s allowed six ER and 13 hits through 17 1/3 innings, with five walks against 14 strikeouts.
Arizona is only 2-3 with Burnes, with the overs going 4-0-1.
In his last start against the Mets, two seasons ago while still with Milwaukee, Burns got touched for six runs in less than five innings, although the Brewers won that game 7-6. Several Mets who batted that day will bat Wednesday night, too.
