Brewers-Giants Betting Preview
Milwaukee just took two of three games at home from the Athletics over the weekend, winning Sunday’s series rubber match 14-1.
Earlier last week, the Brewers took two of three games from Detroit. So Milwaukee is 4-1 over its last five games.
At 12-10 overall, the Brewers trail the first-place Cubs by one game in the NL Central.
Meanwhile, San Francisco just dropped two of three games at the Angels over the weekend, losing Sunday’s series rubber match 5-4 when Los Angeles scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth.
Earlier last week, the Giants split four games at Philadelphia, and just before that, they took two of three games at the Yankees. So San Francisco finished that road trip 5-5.
At 14-8 overall, the Giants trail first-place San Diego by two games in the NL West.
Last year, Milwaukee took the season series from San Francisco four games to two.
Monday’s Pitching Match-Up
Ray is 1/4 on quality starts this season. Last Wednesday he allowed four runs on six hits and five walks through just four innings against the Phillies, although San Francisco won that game 11-4. And over his last three starts he’s allowed six runs and 12 hits through 14 innings, although he also walked 14 over that span.
The Giants are 4-0 with Ray this season, the overs 3-1.
This will be Ray’s first start against Milwaukee since 2019, and that’s a long time ago.
Priester is 0/2 on quality starts this year, but that’s only because he’s been pitching on a short leash. First, he held Colorado to one run through five innings, although the Brewers lost that game 7-2. Then last Tuesday he held Detroit scoreless on one hit through five frames of a 5-0 Milwaukee victory.
So the Brewers are 1-1 with Priester, the unders 2-0.
In his one career start against San Francisco, for Pittsburgh in August of last season, Priester tossed six innings of three-hit, shutout ball. The Pirates lost that game 4-0.
