Orioles-Giants Betting Preview
Baltimore grabbed the opener of this series Friday night, 3-2. The Orioles spotted San Francisco the first run of the game, answered with two runs in the top of the second inning, then later took the lead for good with a run in the top of the seventh and hung on from there.
Baltimore won Friday as a +140 underdog against Logan Webb, and the game was played under a total of 7.5 runs.
With Friday’s win, the Orioles are only 3-4 over their last seven games. But at 36-21 overall, Baltimore owns the second-best record in the American League.
With Friday’s loss, the Giants are 1-4 over their last five games. At 28-29 overall, San Francisco sits in eighth place in the National League playoff standings.
These teams last met back in 2019.
Saturday’s Pitching Match-Up
Cobb is 5/11 on quality starts this season. Last Sunday, Milwaukee got him for seven runs and seven hits in just four innings of a 7-5 San Francisco loss. But over his four starts previous to that, he held opponents to five runs and 23 hits through 24 2/3 innings.
The Giants are 7-4 with Cobb this season, and that’s about what they should be, based on his performances.
This will be Cobb’s first start against Baltimore since 2017, when he was with Tampa Bay, and that’s a long time ago.
Bradish is 4/9 on quality starts this year and three for his last four. Last Sunday, he held Texas to one run and four hits through 6 2/3 innings of a 3-2 Orioles win. And over his last four starts, he’s allowed just seven runs – six earned – and 18 hits through 24 1/3 innings.
Baltimore is 6-3 with Bradish this season, although that’s probably a game better than it should be.
This will be Bradish’s first career start against San Francisco.
