The CFL betting board lists the Eskimos as a -8.5 point spread favorite over the visiting Alouettes with a total line offered up at 49 points.
Montreal was one of the lowest scoring teams in the CFL last season with an average of 21.3 points per game, but its defense was almost at the top of the list in points allowed (23.1). It was able to grind out a 17-16 victory against Saskatchewan last Thursday as a seven-point home favorite and with an offense managed just 233 yards through the air with Darian Durant under center. It looks like this week the pressure is once again going to be dialed up on the Alouettes’ defense to keep things close.
