Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Odds
NBA Final Betting Odds - Game 2
The Miami Heat will be gunning for a win on the road this Thursday night to even their best-of-seven series against the Oklahoma City Thunder in this season' s NBA Finals. Game 2 from the Chesapeake Energy Arena is slated to tip-off at 9 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on ABC.
Miami showed no ill-effects from its extended seven-game series against Boston in the conference finals in the first half of Tuesday night' s Game 1, but it could not keep up the pace in the second half and fell 105-94 as a five-point road underdog. The total went ‘over' the 195-point line.
LeBron James did all he could to try and carry his team to a win with a team-high 30 points, nine rebounds, and four assists and there were four other players in double figures for the Heat, but in the end they could not slow down Oklahoma City when they needed to the most. Miami shot 46.2 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from three-point range, but lost the battle under the boards by getting outrebounded by the Thunder 43-35.
It is way too early in this series to start crowning MVP' s but Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant moved his name to the top of the list with a game-high 36 points while shooting 60 percent from the floor and hitting four of eight three-point attempts. Russell Westbrook chipped-in 27 points, eight rebounds, and 11 assists to just miss posting a triple-double and the Thunder as a team shot 51.9 percent from the field.
If this team continues to play like this it should easily extend its winning streak at home in the playoffs to 10 with a victory on Thursday night. It is currently 9-0 straight-up at home and 6-3 against the spread. Oklahoma City actually trailed by seven points at the half, but found a whole new gear in the third quarter by outscoring the Heat 27-19 to take its first lead of the game. It kept the pedal to the floor down the stretch to seal the 11-point win.
The Heat are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games after losing by more than 10 points, but just 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The total has gone ‘over' in six of their last seven playoff games.
The Thunder are a perfect 6-0 both SU and ATS in their last six playoff games as favorites and 22-7 ATS in their last 29 games against the Eastern Conference. The total has gone ‘over' in eight of their last 10 games as favorites at home.
Miami is now just 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings but the road team is 11-4 ATS in the last 15 games. The total has gone ‘over' in eight of the last 10 meetings in Oklahoma City.
Spread Betting Pick
High-scoring and close are the two key concepts to keep in mind for Game 2. The Heat proved they can run with the Thunder but they now have to do it for a full four quarters. Look for this to remain a one or two possession game to the final buzzer with Oklahoma City getting the win, but Miami covering with the five points.
